




Diesel / Electric Engine
The donor engine for this submarine is a low mileage 1.8 Peugeot Turbo Diesel. Which i then marinised.The engine coolant is supplied from a hole in the high pressure ventury of the jet drive unit, and thenpiped into the engine the sea water then flows around the engine and then is piped into the exhaustsystem and expelled through the exhaust. There is also a manually switched electronically operatedcentrifugal backup pump. The diesel engine is connected to the jet drive via a drive shaft. The drive from the engine to the jet drive unit is driven through an industrial centrifugal clutch. The electric driveunit is then connected to the outer casing of the centrifugal clutch by means of a twin "V" belt pulleysystem, which means dual drive is available at all times.
